Biography

Jennifer, a 1976 graduate of Larkin High School, is inducted for her achievements in softball.  A pioneer in girls athletics in the 1970's, Jennifer played at the varsity level in four sports.  She led her basketball and softball teams to the first ever Upstate 8 Conference championships for females at Larkin High.  Haley earned an athletic scholarship to Eastern Illinois University where she was a four year starter in softball and also played on the volleyball team.  She always batted in the heart of the batting order, leading the EIU Panthers to the large college IAIAW State Softball Championship.  In the major women's American Softball Association, she was an elite player at the national level, then Haley was named to the All-State Team where she played with and against the best players in the game as a member of the Davenport Builders Rockettes (1980).  Over a seven year period, Jennifer batted .325 with the Downers Grove Dolls and helped lead them into national competition where they placed 4th in the nation twice.  She was the only Dolls player to compete in all four national tournaments in which the team qualified.  She received All-Metro and Regional All-Star honors as the Dolls second baseman and power hitter.  In addition, Haley earned Most Valuable Player and All-Tournament honors in Texas 1986 Warren Paine Invitational (international tournament) and competed in the 1989 United States Olympic Festival.
