Biography

Sean was inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame for basketball. He played on the Elgin High varsity from 1996-1999, during which time he set 62 school records, including all-time leading scorer with 2119 points. Sean was named All-State by the Associated Press, the Chicago Sun-Times (junior and senior years), Champaign News-Gazette, and the Chicago Tribune. In addition, he was All-Upstate Eight Conference three times, including UEC Player of the Year twice. Sean amassed more than 600 assists and 400 rebounds in his high school career, while contributing to three regional titles, one sectional title, and one super-sectional title. He then played at the University of Illinois for four years from 2000-2003. In that time, Harrington played on two Big Ten Conference regular season and one Big Ten Conference Tournament championship teams. Twice he led the Big Ten in 3-point shooting percentage. Altogether, Sean made 191 3-pointers in his career, scored 750 points and amassed 222 assists. He equaled a school record by playing in 11 NCAA Tournament games and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference.
