Biography

Jessie Henderson, a 1990 graduate of Elgin High, is inducted for basketball. Jessie was two time most valuable player for the Elgin High basketball team.  He was the leading scorer on the 1990 Elite Eight team and finished his career as the 5th leading scorer at EHS with 1111 points.  Henderson twice was named to the Upstate 8 All-Conference team, the Courier News All-Area team, and the Daily Herald All-Area team.  In addition, the Chicago Sun-Times named him All-State Special Mention his senior year.  Career stats include 18.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.  Jessie played three years at the University of Illinois-Chicago as a top seven player, appearing in 80 games, of which he started 15.  During this period, the Flames won 55 and lost 25.  Henderson was inducted in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in the Player Category in 2016.
