Al Huske was the winner of Elgin City Golf Championships six times, the first at the age of 14. Al turned professional in 1931 at age 23 and later served as head pro at golf clubs for 39 years. He qualified for the PGA Tournament three times and for the U.S. Open five times. His two top—30 finishes in the U.S. Open included a five-way tie for 13th place at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver in 1944. Al was named Illinois "Pro of the Year" in 1959 in recognition of his contributions to the game through his work with caddies and participation in the national teaching program of the PGA.
