Biography

Lauren (Moulton) Marshall is inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame for volleyball. Lauren was a three year varsity volleyball player for Larkin High. During her varsity career, she set numerous records including total kills in a game (13). For match play, she tied for highest % hits in bounds with 100% and ranks second in attack efficiency. In season rankings, Marshall ranks 1st in hitting efficiency and both 2nd and 3rd for % of attack attempts hit in court. For career play, she ranks 1st in hitting efficiency, 2nd in total number of attacks in bounds, and 3rd in % of attack attempts in bounds. Lauren continued her career at Valparaiso for four years. She is the all-time leader in hitting percentage (.280), ranks 4th in blocks (404), 5th in kills (1195), and has three of the top nine hitting percentage seasons in program history. At Valparaiso, Marshall was the 2004 Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Mid Continent Conference twice, and Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Month (for all sports) twice. In 2012 Lauren was inducted into the Valparaiso University Sports Hall of Fame.
