Biography

Leslie Schock, a 1996 Elgin High School graduate, played four years on Maroon basketball teams that posted a 109-13 record. This run included a 63-1 Upstate Eight Conference mark that resulted in four titles. As a senior, Leslie helped the Lady Maroons to a 31-2 record and a second place finish at the state tournament. Schock, who played center/forward at 6'3", averaged 18.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and a 3.0 blocks a game her senior season. For her 122 game career, she was Elgin's all-time leading scorer with 2,005 points (16.4 points per game average) and had over 1,000 career rebounds. Her senior season, Leslie was named to two All-State first teams and two All-State second teams and twice was the Courier News Player of the Year. Schock went on to Northwestern University where she was twice awarded Academic All-Big Ten honors. She started 70 of the 100 games she played for the Wildcats and hit 366 of 772 field goal attempts for a .474 shooting percentage. She averaged 8.6 points and 4.8 rebounds a game for her career, scoring 864 points. During her junior season, Schock ranked second on the team in scoring (15.1 points per game) and third in rebounding (6.2 per game).
