Elgin High School

Gregg Fohrman is inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame for his work with Elgin Youth Football. He was one of the key men in the formation of the Elgin Youth Football League in 1957 and was the only one of the original coaches active beginning his 38th year of coaching in 1995. He has a career coaching record of 3O8-6O-12, including 139-19-1 the last 13 seasons with the Junior Midget Chiefs. His teams have won 24 championships, including a national Pop Warner Title in 1982. The Chiefs were national runner-up in 1987.

An Elgin High School graduate, Gregg was league president in 1975, the only year since 1957 that he did not coach. He was league commissioner nine years (1975-84). Many of his players have gone on to star at local high schools.
