Scott Hulke

Larkin High School Class of 1967


A 1968 Larkin High graduate, Hulke is a member of the Larkin High School Hall of Fame and is inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of fame for football and swimming. He was an All-American two-way lineman on the undefeated 1967 Royals football team, the last undefeated team in Elgin history. In addition, Scott was selected unanimously to the Upstate Eight All-Conference team and was named to the All-Area team by the Elgin Courier News, the Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Daily News. Furthermore, Hulke was selected to All-State football teams by the Chicago Daily News, Rockford Register Star and Champaign News Gazette to complement his Parade Magazine All-American third team selection. During his senior season, Scott won the Most Valuable Player Award on the Royals swimming team, and he set a two season Larkin High School record of 240 ¾ points scored. He received a scholarship to the University of Michigan in football, where he was a member of Bo Schembeckler's 11-0 team in 1971 and played on Michigan's Rose Bowl team.
